It's Day 9.
I'm steadfast on the journey. It seems easier knowing that there is an end in sight. Sometimes I do get a little worried about coming off the fast. The whole point is to be healthier, not crash diet. So I don't want to just go crazy. I think eating bad foods created more cravings in me. Sugar/Carbs and processed foods are so addictive. So, how can I add them back into my diet without feeling anxiety?
I think I've adequately constructed my nutrition plan for after the fast. Working within the guidelines should make a big difference.
Nutrition plan:
1 green juice or green smoothie per day
Lemon or lime water in the morning
60-70% vegetables and fruits
Next comes nuts, legumes, soy, tofu, almond milk, stevia, agave
After that, healthy low-to-no-processed grains
Then in small amounts: good fats, eggs, dairy, fish and hormone-free chicken
Then once in a while splurging.
Vitamin B12 and D (liquid forms)
So I'll be mostly vegetarian and partially vegan. HAHA.
Cooking from scratch may seem like a lot of work. Well, it is. So is juicing (you have to wash the whole juicer out every time). But what I'm learning is to live for health, to love what you are doing, to slow life down so that you are doing what is important. Sure, I could nuke a frozen pizza and have more time. But more time to do what? Sit on the couch? Why not take pleasure in making something healthy AND tasty, and ENJOY IT? Believe me, it's a hard thing to do to change your habits. But having support (people who will be healthy with you or at least cheer you on) is a terrific aide!
PS. I'm feeling fine. Not tired in the afternoons. Not AS tired in the mornings (but I'm still not a morning person!).
